The quick story:
For more than a decade, Race Taylor has been on the air at WPLJ New York. From your cubicle to your car and the kitchen, the most brilliant minds in the universe now have Race broadcasting from their computer, iPad & phone! 

Originally from the outskirts of Detroit, Race and his wife Patty, made the trip to NYC in 1999, putting down roots in New Jersey with their 3 boys,  who are now 14, 11 and 7.

The Race Taylor studio doors have been opened to new artists, and legends alike…including Adele, Lady Antebellum, Green Day, Sheryl Crow, Maroon 5, <pause for breath> Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Dave Matthews, Sting, John Mayer, <sigh, are you done yet?> Melissa Etheridge, Coldplay, Matchbox Twenty, Aerosmith <OK, enough already!> and many, many others. (Don’t get us started on his annual “Live from the Grammy Awards” broadcast…just imagine the coolest room on the planet, and Race.)

Outside the studio, you’ll often catch Race hosting many of WPLJ’s EXCLUSIVE concert events…from the Acoustic Café to the wildly successful Up Close and Personal Concerts (once held at The China Club, now at the Hard Rock Café in Times Square.)  These events place his one-of-a-kind interview technique on the big stage with the mega talents of Bon Jovi, Rob Thomas, The Script, Hall & Oates, <again with the name dropping?!> Sara Bareilles, Rick Springfield, Def Leppard, O.A.R., John Mellencamp, Gavin DeGraw and just about ONE ZILLION others!

Always too busy rubbing elbows with celebrities, it was a task just to wrestle this quote out of Race…  “The intimate performances are amazing, but the long form interview is my favorite part.  How many times do you get to hear a major recording artists really tell their story?”

In addition to his work on the air at PLJ, Race is the current billboard voice for ABC -TV’s Prime Time, Daytime and Late Night programming, appearing on shows like The View, The Chew, GH, Dancing With The Stars, Grey’s Anatomy, Castle, Secret Millionaire, CMA Music Fest, and Jimmy Kimmel Live just to name a few. Race has also been the host of several national radio specials with the ABC and Westwood One radio networks.
