The quick story:
After nearly 2 years doing Afternoon Drive in Dallas, Race’s got the call that most jocks only dream of.  It was Tom Cuddy and Scott Shannon from the legendary WPLJ in New York.  By the time the Y2K craze was in full swing, Race was doing afternoons at 95.5 PLJ in New York City!   Race was personally very pleased too, "Professionally, there's not much that compares to crackin' the mic in a market that 17 million people call home. This is indeed the center of the world...the city that never sleeps...and ANYTHING is possible."

Adds Race, "Good thing for that music education...it's put to use every day!  Especially when artists like Sting, John Mayer, Sheryl Crow, Dave Matthews, KT Tunstall, Rob Thomas, Melissa Etheridge, Coldplay, Aerosmith, Maroon 5 and many others stop by the show. That schoolin’ allows me to relate to them as a fellow musician as well as a host.”

In addition to his work on the air at PLJ, Race is the current billboard voice for ABC-TV's Prime Time programming. His voice work has been on shows like Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy and Dancing with the Stars just to name a few.

Race has also been the host of several national radio specials with the ABC and Westwood One radio networks.  Television appearances include All My Children, Three Men and a Chick Flick, VH-1's Top 20 Countdown, Behind The Music, True Spin, PIX Saturday Night and several entertainment magazine shows as a music analyst.

You may also see Race at the China Club or PLJ Acoustic Café as he hosts the wildly successful 'PLJ UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL concerts.  This series of once in a lifetime concert events has featured the likes of Bon Jovi, Rob Thomas, Hall & Oates, James Blunt, Rick Springfield, Def Leppard, KT Tunstall , Bryan Adams, O.A.R., John Mellencamp, Gavin DeGraw, Coldplay and many others!

Adds Race, "To interact with the audience and the artist simultaneously...that’s the best part!  Throw a camera in there and it’s a TV show!"

Outside of radio, Race plays golf, drums, and "Dad."  He and his wife Patty live in New Jersey with their 3 boys, ages 9, 7 and 2.
